Decanter – Hundreds of Burgundy wine appellation signs to be auctioned
Burgundy appellation signs that marked the vineyard region for around 20 years are set to be auctioned this November, following their recent replacement with new plaques.
The auction, organized by the Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB), will feature signs from renowned grands crus like Chambertin, Bonne Mares, and Bâtard-Montrachet, as well as plaques for various village appellations.
These signs are promoted as perfect ornaments for wine enthusiasts’ homes and gardens. I think we have to get one of these.

North Bay Business Journal – What do wine-lovers want? New study reveals wine tourism trends
Amid concerns about the wine industry’s current state, a new study from the Wine Market Council offers insights that could help local wineries navigate the changing landscape of wine tourism.
The survey received responses from over 9,100 wine consumers, mainly wine club members across the United States, of those surveyed, 83% identified as “White-Caucasian,” with only 24% planning to visit wineries this year. Though still underrepresented among American wine club members, 58% of Black, 39% of Hispanic, and 38% of Asian American participants in the study expressed plans to visit wineries this year.
So what should wineries do… I say just keep making good wines, and more people will show up to drink them. The article has a different take. You can read it to find out.
