Wine Business – Now That TikTok Wine Ads Are Legal, Marketers Are Bullish on the Platform’s Potential to Reach New Audiences

I wouldn’t think this would be a great platform to push wine, but in a VERY SPECIFIC survey, A 2024 Wine Market Council study found that 40 percent of wine drinkers already use TikTok more than once a week.

The article is a very in-depth look at the market and its potential and is worth a read.

Wine Spectator – 9 Terms and Trends Wine Professionals Are Sick of Seeing

I love this article.  It’s spot on.  Turns out I’m not the only one tired of hearing about “Natural” wines, and Port/Whiskey Barrel Aged Wines, and “Sugar-Free” Wines.

One other topic in the article is “heavy” wine bottles.  This trend really does have to stop.  Let’s get the industry to agree on a Standard light weight bottle, that can be easily reused.

Tim Atkin, Master of Wine – Is There Any Justification For Wine?

Tim makes the case that The satisfying beauty of wine can help bring order to a disordered mind or soul.   Now what wine lover could ever disagree with that statement?  Now how do we convince the younger generations that wine is worth exploring? Farm Journal – Grape Growers Desperately Need You to Drink More Wine as They Grapple With a Glut of Uncontracted Grapes

Wine consumption is at a 24-year low. Tyne Morgan reports that: “Declining demand for wine and an increase in imported wine means there’s a glut of grapes this year, and it’s so bad there’s a surge in the number of unharvested grapes that still don’t have a home.”

Wine & Winery of the Week

Wine Tasting at the Casa Magoni Winery

One of the greatest joys we have as wine lovers is introducing friends, and our extended group of friends here on the blog, to the thrill of going wine tasting in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja Mexico’s electric wine region. And an afternoon at Casa Magoni will not disappoint.

2019 Casa Magoni Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo, a classic Italian grape, sings in the hands of legendary Baja winemaker Camillo Magoni and his Casa Magoni winery. The 2019 Casa Magoni Nebbiolo is the perfect example of the incredible wines coming out of Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe.

Be sure to check out our Guide to Valle de Guadalupe for more winery and restaurant recommendations.
