Wine, Dine, Relax at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa

Situated in the heart of Temecula’s wine country is the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, a Southern California hotel that’s destined to be one of your new favorites. Before we get into this review, full disclosure, we’ve stayed at the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa three times, and each time we learn a little more about the hotel, and find more reasons to return. Going wine tasting in Temecula is such a fun, laid back experience, and it gets even better when you can stay on-site at a high-end property like this.

Accommodation Options

The Resort at South Coast Winery offers two room options: villas and suites. We prefer to stay in the villas, but the suites are great too. Both types of rooms come with fireplaces, patios, and luxurious robes, but the villas also come with a huge jacuzzi tub.

Regardless which room type you choose, you will receive a complimentary bottle of wine to pop open and enjoy on your patio. What a way to start your Temecula wine-tasting adventure!

The rooms at South Coast Winery are all very clean and spacious (each room is roughly 575 square feet), which is a good value for the money. But, we should mention that there is no daily room service. For the price, it’s curious they don’t offer that amenity. 

The beds are good but we bring our own pillows as theirs are not comfortable. 

On-site Amenities

Love spa treatments? This resort has got you covered. The Grapeseed Spa offers healing services for your mind and body. The spa is attached to the pool, so you can go to your treatment, and then rent a cabana and enjoy lunch poolside. Don’t feel like booking a spa service? You can also rent a cabana if you are not using the spa.

We should note that the spa prices are a tad expensive for this area. Guests also have access to a 24 hour fitness center.

South Coast Winery Resort Experiences

Live Music

There are a number of winery hotels in Temecula, but what sets your stay at South Coast Winery apart from all of the others is the live music. The winery has two concert series, the Rhythm on the Vine and the Jazz Concert Series. Rhythm on the Vine draws some pretty big bands. So far we’ve seen the Gin Blossoms and Jewel here. The 2024 lineup hasn’t been released yet, but we expect it to be another stellar year of music.

Winery Experience

South Coast Winery has won numerous awards for its wines, and provides a high-quality tasting experience. If you come for a concert, be sure to save room for a guided winery tour and wine tasting too. 

Off-site Experiences

Hot air balloon rides, horseback riding, and golf are all conveniently located near the resort, if you want to explore additional activities during your stay.

Dining at South Coast Winery

The Vineyard Rose, the resort’s on-site restaurant, is fantastic. Farm-to-table cuisine is the specialty here, and they also host seasonal wine pairing dinners.

Temecula has beautiful warm weather, and so when you dine here, take advantage of al fresco dining.

Tips

• Check-in is at 4pm and they are strict about that. The hotel does not accommodate early check-ins. 
• South Coast Winery is a dog-friendly resort, so bring your furry friend!
• Some patios and balconies have better views than others, so if this is an important part of your stay, be sure to request a room with a vineyard view.
