Romantic restaurants in Los Cabos don’t get much better than Pitahayas Restaurant at the Marriott Hacienda del Mar. This iconic beachside resort restaurant has been around for nearly 30 years, and it is a must visit culinary destination for travelers seeking expansive ocean views, elevated dishes, and friendly service. There are so many dining options in this part of Baja, but a meal at Pitahayas will leave you captivated.
Keep reading to learn why we can’t wait to go back to this unforgettable Cabo restaurant.
The location of Pitahayas restaurant couldn’t be better. This Los Cabos restaurant sits within the Hacienda del Mar, which is part of the Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The Autograph Collection is special among this hotel chain’s accommodations because each property has a distinctive flair and character that is unique to its local setting.
In addition to Pitahayas, the hotel also has a Tequila Bar serving over 100 different types of tequilas and a handful of other casual dining concepts.
Save Pitahayas Restaurant at the Marriott Hacienda del Mar for your list of Los Cabos restaurants with stunning ocean views. We’ve enjoyed our fair share of Baja restaurants on the beach, and we have to say that this spot has some of the best beachy vibes we’ve experienced.
What really makes the atmosphere at this restaurant special also happens to be Pitahayas’ most stunning architectural feature, the palapa. This traditional Mexican open-air thatched roof structure allows diners to look right out onto the Sea of Cortez while they enjoy their meal or sip their wine.
Just check out our pictures. Even the bar overlooks the ocean.
The menu at Pitahayas Restaurant in Cabo hits all the right notes. Being that this is a Baja beach restaurant, you’re getting lots of fresh seafood (ceviche, spicy tuna tartare, octopus, and a local catch-of-the-day), but you will also find savory meat options like Wagyu steak, lemon marinated chicken, slow roasted pork, and duck dumplings.
Some of our favorite dishes were the fresh oysters, a seafood trio with crispy shrimp, and the caviar. You’ve just got to order the caviar if you’re sitting beachside at a restaurant like this!
If meat and seafood aren’t your thing, fear not. Pitahayas, Los Cabos also serves a vegetarian menu that’s popular with plant lovers.
There are so many great menu options that it’s easy to over order, especially on the small plate, sharable items, but try and save room for dessert. The creamy chocolate dessert we had was divine with the Round Pond, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon we had.
La Cava de Santiago is a wine cellar cave and tasting room located below the restaurant, and they have over 400 different wine brands from some of the most respected wineries in the world. Before dinner, we had the pleasure of doing a red wine tasting with sommelier Cristopher Perez Lara, and we have to say, his knowledge was spot on.
Christopher presented a very informative and fun tasting, and this was one of the best wine-tasting experiences in Valle de Guadalupe that we’ve had this year.
While this restaurant is a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area, you’re still getting a better deal than dining at a similarly high-end restaurant in the US. If you dine, you’re getting great food, excellent service, and breathtaking ocean views.
There are a few restaurants at the Marriott Hacienda del Mar, but this is the one you want to try if you stay at the hotel. If you’re not staying at the hotel, it’s absolutely worth a trip to the hotel. We highly recommend this Los Cabos restaurant to our food and wine-loving friends.
