Located at 1245 First Street in downtown Napa, Alpha Omega Collective Napa is an urban tasting lounge representing two California producers owned by Robin and Michelle Baggett. Alpha Omega contributes Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux varieties, and Chardonnay, while Tolosa adds Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Edna Valley and other cool-climate California vineyards. The tasting room was named Best Downtown Napa Tasting Room in the 2026 Napa Valley Life Readers’ Choice Awards.
This is not a vineyard or production property. The principal appeal is the opportunity to compare wines from Napa Valley and California’s Central Coast in one downtown location, with restaurants, hotels, and the Napa Riverfront within walking distance.
Robin and Michelle Baggett established Alpha Omega in Rutherford in 2006. Robin had previously entered the wine business as a grape grower and co-founded Tolosa in Edna Valley in 1998. Michelle’s background in hotel design, hospitality marketing, and brand development helped shape the identity and visitor-facing direction of Alpha Omega.
The Baggetts introduced the Alpha Omega Collective umbrella in 2018. The downtown Napa tasting room opened on First Street in 2019 and was expanded with an adjoining tasting space several years later. The current visitor program focuses on Alpha Omega and Tolosa, allowing the tasting room to present two distinct regional and varietal perspectives under one ownership group.
Alpha Omega’s wines are led by winemaker Melissa Paris and consulting winemaker Andy Erickson. Paris studied viticulture and enology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and completed harvest work in Australia, New Zealand, and California before joining Alpha Omega in 2020. She became winemaker in July 2024 and is responsible for final blending decisions across the portfolio.
Erickson holds a master’s degree in enology from UC Davis and has worked with producers including Screaming Eagle, Harlan Estate, Mayacamas, and Dalla Valle. His consulting role provides additional guidance on Alpha Omega’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-variety program.
Tolosa appointed Blake Kuhn as winemaker in March 2026. Kuhn studied biology and environmental sciences at UC Santa Barbara before continuing his viticulture and enology education at UC Davis. His California winemaking background includes R.H. Phillips, Clayhouse, Laetitia, Qupé, and other Central Coast programs.
The tasting room occupies a restored downtown building at the corner of First and Randolph streets, across from the Archer Hotel. Its interior combines dark wood, hardwood floors, lounge seating, contemporary art, and a brighter adjoining tasting area. The design includes a two-tiered ring chandelier, textured wall treatments, and several smaller seating arrangements intended for seated flights rather than a conventional standing tasting bar.
Indoor and outdoor seating are available, but this is an urban experience without vineyards, mountain views, or the water features found at Alpha Omega’s Rutherford estate. Visitors choosing between the two locations should view downtown Napa as the more convenient option and Rutherford as the more traditional wine-country property.
Alpha Omega is centered on Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties sourced from vineyards across Napa Valley. The portfolio includes broader Napa Valley bottlings, AVA-designated wines, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons, and ERA, the producer’s flagship Cabernet-based wine. Alpha Omega also produces Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Tolosa provides a contrasting set of wines built primarily around Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Its Edna Valley location is influenced by cool Pacific air, marine-derived soils, and a long growing season. The winery also works with vineyards in areas including the Santa Lucia Highlands, Sta. Rita Hills, Petaluma Gap, Russian River Valley, and Santa Cruz Mountains.
The Flagship Flight includes Alpha Omega ERA and Tolosa Primera. Primera is a limited-production Pinot Noir selected from barrels originating at Tolosa’s Edna Ranch estate vineyard. Presenting these two wines together gives guests a direct comparison between a structured Napa Valley Cabernet program and a cool-climate California Pinot Noir program.
Three curated flights are currently offered:
The Signature Flight introduces current releases from Alpha Omega or Tolosa. The Curated Flight moves into limited-production and vineyard-designated wines. The Flagship Flight is built around ERA and Primera. Wines may also be ordered by the glass or bottle, and hosts can adjust a flight based on a guest’s interest in particular varieties or regions. Most seated tastings last approximately 90 minutes.
Food is available from neighboring The Dutch Door. Current selections listed by the tasting room include a Napa Valley Plate, Farmers Market Plate, Spanish Fried Chicken, and Truffle Fries. Outside food is not permitted.
The format is more flexible than a fixed estate tour. Guests can focus on Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, explore Central Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, or compare wines from both producers. There is no vineyard or cellar component, so the experience depends primarily on the wine selection, host interaction, and downtown setting.
The tasting room does not require membership and can enroll visitors in the separate Alpha Omega or Tolosa wine clubs. Members receive preferred bottle pricing at the Collective, along with benefits administered through the individual winery programs.
Alpha Omega’s Signature Wine Club offers customizable shipments of two, four, six, or twelve bottles, sent six times annually. Benefits include 20 percent pricing on designated wine categories, access to certain single-vineyard releases, the ability to request an ERA allocation, complimentary Signature tastings for four at the Rutherford estate, and reciprocal benefits at Collective locations.
Tolosa offers three, six, and twelve-bottle Signature Club options, with access to member releases, preferred pricing, events, and complimentary tasting privileges. For regular buyers, the principal value of either program comes from preferred pricing, allocation access, and tasting reciprocity rather than benefits unique to the downtown location.
Alpha Omega Collective Napa is best suited to visitors who want a seated, centrally located tasting without committing part of the day to driving between wine estates. Its strongest distinction is the ability to compare Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon with Tolosa Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in one visit.
Those seeking vineyards, production facilities, or broad landscape views will find more context at the Rutherford or Edna Valley estates. For downtown guests, however, the combination of three tasting levels, flexible pours, food service, and access to two established California portfolios makes this a substantive tasting-room experience rather than simply a retail outpost.
