Many wine lovers have not heard of Jerome, Arizona, but this Arizona travel destination is quietly becoming a wine lover’s paradise. We weren’t sure what to expect exploring wineries in this historic mining town, but what we found surprised us.
This charming small town boasts a unique wine scene with delicious finds and stunning Verde Valley views at many wineries and tasting rooms. Are you curious to discover what makes Jerome’s wine tasting so special?
The historic mining town of Jerome, Arizona, is located in Northern Arizona, about 2 hours from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport. This small wine community sits within the Verde Valley and includes the towns of Jerome, Sedona, Cornville, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Camp Verde, Oak Creek Village, Rimrock, and Verde Villages. There are over 20 wineries and wine bars spread across what locals call the Verde Valley Wine Trail.
Jerome sits within the aptly named Verde Valley AVA.
If you’re exploring the wine scene in the Verde Valley, you’re not going to want to miss The Original Jerome Winery. This historic spot in Jerome pours delicious wines made with Arizona grapes from their Dragoon Vineyard, and their tasting room is a cute mix of modern and vintage vibes.
Whether you’re a Zinfandel aficionado or just learning about wine, they have something for you. Choose from tastings like their entry-level for $20 or a decadent port tasting for $18 – all very reasonably priced! Vino Zona in Jerome is a must-visit for any wine lover exploring Arizona’s up-and-coming wine scene. This charming spot doesn’t just pour any wines – they specialize in showcasing exclusive finds from hidden boutique wineries around the state. Unlike many wineries, these gems don’t have their own tasting rooms, making Vino Zona your gateway to discover a collection of unique local wines in one location.
Jerome wine tasting is even better when you’re sitting in a cozy tasting room, and the space at Vino Zona fits that to a tee. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, with plush couches and cozy nooks perfect for relaxing with a glass. Plus, they’re dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along!

If you’ve already started researching Jerome tasting rooms and wineries, then you’ve definitely come across Caduceus Cellars, Arizona’s most famous winery! This winery is owned by the legendary Maynard James Keenan of Tool, and the wines are some of the most unique in Arizona.
Spending an afternoon here means experiencing a tasting that may include bottles from their selection of whites, roses, and reds, including unique blends and varietals like Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, and the lovely Super Tuscan-inspired Anubis. If you can’t make it to Caduceus Cellars tasting room on your trip to Jerome, the brand also has satellite tasting rooms in Scottsdale and Cottonwood.

Cornville’s Page Spring Cellars is a short 20 minute drive from Jerome and it was one of our favorite experiences in the Verde Valley wine region. Not only do they craft delicious wines from grapes like Teroldego and Counoise, but they also offer fascinating vineyard tours that explore sustainable practices and Arizona’s unique terroir.
Sustainability is a major focus here, so if you’re into wineries that incorporate these ideas into their winemaking, you’ve come to the right place. Page Springs Cellars has installed solar panels, built a wastewater processor, and even compost food scraps and vineyard waste – all to ensure healthy vines and delicious wines for years to come.
Choose from three different tours, each offering a behind-the-scenes look and tastings, or relax in the beautiful tasting room and enjoy their extensive list of wines by the glass.

Before or after your Jerome wine tasting adventure, check out The Clinkscale, our pick for Jerome’s best restaurant that is sure to satisfy your hunger.
There was one restaurant that left us impressed each time we dined: The Clinkscale, a Jerome restaurant offering a delicious brunch, lunch, and dinner. Whether you’re craving a classic cheeseburger (seriously, it’s a must-try), fluffy french toast, or a hearty chopped salad, The Clinkscale will please everyone in your group. The historic building boasts a modern yet warm ambiance, with exposed brick walls, large windows for natural light, and comfy seating options.
Plus, their friendly staff will ensure you have a memorable experience – we did, both times we dined.
A quick note on the Asylum restaurant in Jerome
This Asylum restaurant comes up a lot in Jerome Travel Guides, so we want to add a quick note about our experience there. We did not include this Jerome restaurant in our recommended list of places to dine because beyond great views, the experience was pretty ‘meh’.
If your goal is to dine at a restaurant in Jerome with a view of the Verde Valley, and the quality of the food isn’t your top concern, do go. But, if you’re looking for an overall great dining experience, head to Clinkscale instead.
